hotel Andaluuz:
This was a SCI_Arc project to design a boutique hotel with 100 rooms. The catch was that there were two design theme inspirations drawn from a hat. Hotel Andaluuz drew Islamic Caligraphy & Victoria's Secret Lingerie.
While at first the two seem very much at odds, the merger is quite interesting. Both celebrate the beauty of nature, while not representing the human form explicitly. The caligraphy presents an ordered & geometric set of ornamentation, as well as a language to order and group things. The lingerie offered a set of structural and material metaphors, and a modus from which to keep the viewer on the hook.
The final presentation was for a series of still images only. I presented these four black and white renderings printed on canvas & framed.
